 WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wolves, proud members of the Northern Pacific Hockey League, had another successful weekend in the NPHL, winning all three games played, beating Tri-Cities 6-2 on Friday, October 2nd and 12-3 on Saturday, October 3rd, then stopping West Sound 9-2 on Sunday, October 4th.

In Friday’s 6-2 win over Tri-Cities, Brayden Durante (New Westminster, BC) led the way with 2 goals and an assist, while Richie Stickle (Healy, AK) and Tom Ignatovich (Seattle, WA) added a goal and assist each. Raymond Fleming (Palo Alto, CA) contributed 4 assists. Bronson Moore (Kennewick, WA) made 26 saves for the Wolves, who went 5-for-13 on the power play and 4-of-5 on the penalty kill.

In Saturday’s 12-3 win over the Outlaws, Hayden Givens (Portland, OR) scored 4 times and added an assist, while Durante tallied 2 goals and 2 assists. Denton Hymer (East Wenatchee, WA) had 3 assists. Max Flynn (Wenatchee, WA) made 18 saves for Wenatchee, which went 2-for-11 on the power play and 5-of-6 on the penalty kill.

In Sunday’s 9-2 win over West Sound, Will Connors (Richland, WA) had 2 goals and 2 assists, while Stickle and Griffin Wiencek (Sherwood, OR) scored 2 goals and an assist each, while Hunter Hegdahl (Brookings, SD) chipped in 2 goals. Moore was called on to make 11 saves for the Wolves, who went 2-for-7 on the power play and 2-of-3 on the penalty kill.

“Well, the guys played hard this weekend.” said Wenatchee Wolves Head Coach Ryan McKelvie. “It’s nice to get off to a good start in NPHL play. Right now it’s early in the year, so we’re just looking to build off of every game and get better every time we’re on the ice.”

Next NPHL action for Wenatchee is a two-game series with West Sound in Bremerton on October 9th and 10th.
