WILD WEEKEND PREVIEW
This weekend, the Wenatchee Wild are on the road for three games as they face three of the top four teams in the Coastal Conference, beginning Friday at the Nanaimo Clippers, Saturday at the Victoria Grizzlies, and wrapping up Sunday afternoon in Langley to face the Rivermen. Live coverage will be available on bchltv.com with live radio coverage on 1340 The Hawk on Friday and Sunday, with Saturday’s game airing on NewsRadio 560 KPQ.
Wenatchee (2-4-4, 8th place Interior Conf.) is led in scoring by Cade Littler (9 pts), Landon Parker (8 pts), and Owen Bohn (7 pts). Goaltending duties are shared by Tyler Shea and Andy Vlaha.
FRIDAY at Nanaimo (7:00 pm) The Clippers are currently tied for third place with a record of 9-6-0. The Wild are 4-4-3 all time against the Clippers, but are just 1-3-1 at Frank Crane Arena. The Wild are winless in their last five head to head with Nanaimo (0-4-1). The Clippers special teams are clicking, ranking 4th in the BCHL in both power play and penalty kill.
SATURDAY at Victoria (7:00 pm): The Grizzlies (9-6-0) are tied with Nanaimo for third place in their conference. The Wild have enjoyed success against Victoria, holding a 7-2-1 all time edge and 3-1-1 at the Q Centre in Victoria. The last two meetings were won by Wenatchee, by scores of 8-0 and 2-0.
SUNDAY at Langley (2:30 pm): With a record of 9-2-3 this season, the Langley Rivermen sit atop the Coastal Conference. The Wild own a dominating 16-3-1 record all time over Langley, including six of seven at the George Preston Rec Centre, and 10 of the last 11 overall. This year’s edition of the Rivermen, though, come into this one red hot, and the Wild will need a solid 60-minute effort on Sunday.
