The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are pleased to announce the signing of Wild Head Coach / Assistant GM Chris Clark to a two-year contract extension.

Clark joined the Wild staff at the start of their inaugural season in 2008-09 as a goalie coach. He would serve as an assistant coach until midway through the 2019-20 season when he was named Interim Head Coach. After the season, the interim tag was lifted and he became the fourth Head Coach in franchise history.

Wild General Manager Bliss Littler: “We are excited to have Coach Clark committed for the next two seasons to lead us on the ice. Chris has been with the Wild since the first season and understands the culture and identity we want here. He’s put together as good of a staff as there is in junior hockey. I look for the Wild to return to their winning ways of the past this season.“

The situation Clark inherited has been a challenging one. A lost year due to Covid, followed by having to build essentially an expansion team has provided the need to navigate uncharted territory. Clark has met the challenge head-on and is excited for what lies ahead.

Clark is eager for the new season. “I would like to thank David and Lisa White as well as Bliss Littler for their continued support and belief in me to lead the Wild. I would also like to thank my wife Julie and our families for their continued support. It is a great honor to be the Head Coach of this incredible franchise. I am very lucky to work with a tremendous staff every day and we can’t to get started on September 2nd.”

Wenatchee Wild owner David White says, “Congratulations to Coach Clark on the new 2-year extension with the Wild. We are extremely proud as an organization to have him as our leader from the bench. As Bliss Littler has always said, ‘If you don’t get along with Chris Clark, it’s probably you’.”
