WILD WEEKLY PREVIEW – DEC. 30-31, 2021
The Wenatchee Wild return to action following the Christmas break with a five-game win streak in progress, as they resume play at Town Toyota Center for a two-game series with the Prince George Spruce Kings (13-9-1, 4th Place Interior Conference) Thursday (6p) and Friday (7:05p). Live video coverage will be available on bchltv.com with live radio coverage on NewsRadio 560 KPQ.
Wenatchee (8-10-5, 7th place Interior Conf.) is led in scoring by Ean Somoza (6g, 18a) followed by Cade Littler (10g, 13a) and Owen Bohn (11g, 10a). Goaltending duties are shared by Tyler Shea and Andy Vlaha. Prince George is led in scoring by John Harrington (14g, 17a).
PRINCE GEORGE: The Spruce Kings roll into Wenatchee winless in their last three games leading up to the break. Their power play has been outstanding, tops in the BCHL. The Wild power play ranks second in the league, just 0.3% behind, so special teams will likely be a big part of how the weekend plays out. It helps the Wild that they are the least penalized team in the league which should help keep the Spruce Kings power play units off the ice a bit. Prince George is further aided by the fact they have the second stingiest defense in the league in terms of goals allowed.
