The Wenatchee Wild broke a scoreless tie late in the second, then rolled on to add four more in the third period on the way to a 5-1 preseason victory over the Penticton Vees on Friday night at the iFIBER Rink in Wenatchee.

Hunter Alden tapped in a loose rebound at 11:45, following an attempt by Jacques Bouquot and set up by Josh Arnold. Wenatchee added to their lead when AJ Hodges fired a shot into the net at 13:18, assisted by Drake Usher, and the final 5-1 margin was reached when Jacques Bouquot scored :27 seconds later, assisted by Josh Arnold and Jacob Modry. Overall, Wenatchee outshot the Vees 39-30, with Austin Park and Cal Sandquist splitting time in net.

Wenatchee’s preseason concludes tomorrow night as the Wild travel to Penticton for a 6pm matchup with the Vees.

The regular season begins for Wenatchee on Sept. 7 when the Wild visit the Vernon Vipers. The Wild Home Opener will be Friday October 12 against the Nanaimo Clippers, and will feature the unveiling of the Championship Banners, a Ring Ceremony, and more.
