WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wild of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) are excited to announce the dates and format for our 2023 Spring Prospect Camp. The 2023 Prospect Evaluation camps will be held in Wenatchee, Washington, and Las Vegas, Nevada. After a great response in 2022, the Wild will again be conducting a Goaltender Evaluation Camp prior to the Prospect Camps, and goaltenders selected from the Evaluation Camp will continue on to participate in the Prospect Camps, immediately following, at the same locations.
Wild Goaltender Evaluation Camps will include three on-ice sessions where movement, athleticism and save selection will be evaluated. Goaltenders selected will join our Prospect Camps, which begin on the evening of the last goaltender evaluation session. Each Prospect team will play four games and will be evaluated by current Wenatchee Wild Coaching and Scouting staff members. Select players will be invited to our Final Tryout Camp, to compete for a roster spot for the upcoming season, which will be held in Wenatchee May 26-28, 2023.
The 2022-23 Wenatchee Wild have nine players who have participated in a past Wild Prospect Camp. This is a great opportunity for young players to be seen by Wild staff members and to begin a relationship with the organization.
The Wenatchee Wild organization has a long and rich history of developing players for the NCAA as well as professional hockey. Since their inception in 2008, the Wild have had 160+ Division 1 commitments, and eight NHL Draft picks. Current Wild Alumni are playing in the NCHC, the Big Ten, Hockey East, Atlantic Hockey, and the ECAC. Current Wild Alumni in the NHL include Nic Dowd (Washington), and Jasper Weatherby (San Jose), and current Wild alumni in the AHL and ECHL include Tyler Rockwell, Brendan Harris, Nick Rivera, Devin Cooley, Cooper Zech, and Trey Bradley.
