(from left: Owen Bohn, Anthony Cafarelli, Ean Somoza, Mario Gasparini, Tyler Shea, Cade Littler)

The Wenatchee Wild handed out their annual awards at a team dinner on Tuesday night. Historically the event has been accompanied by a banquet open to the public, but the uncertainty of existing mandates made preparing for the tentative event became increasingly difficult as time wore on. The event was emceed by broadcaster Arch Ecker, with awards presented by Head Coach Chris Clark, Associate Head Coach Tom Rudrud, and Director of Scouting and Recruiting Leigh Mendelson. The awards were voted on solely by the players with the exception of the Fan Favorite vote, conducting via online poll. The winners are as follows:

MOST IMPROVED: Anthony Cafarelli

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Cade Littler

TOP DEFENSEMAN: Mario Gasparini

TOP FORWARD: Ean Somoza

FAN FAVORITE: Owen Bohn

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:  shared by Ean Somoza and Tyler Shea

The Wild will face the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the opening round of the playoffs. Games 3 and 4 are scheduled to be played in Wenatchee April 5 and 6. Vaccine card mandates are no longer required AND NO MASKS for the remainder of the Wild season.  Live radio coverage will be available on NewsRadio 560 KPQ with video available at bchltv.ca.  Arch Ecker provides play-by-play.
