Littler Chosen To 2022-23 BCHL All-Star Game

BCHL RELEASE – INITIAL 2023 ALL-STAR SELECTIONS

WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), are honored to announce the selection of forward Cade Littler to the league’s All-Star Game, scheduled for January 21 at a new outdoor arena opened last February in Penticton, British Columbia.

Littler was chosen to the game based on a vote of all 18 of the league’s coaches. One player from each of the BCHL’s 18 teams was selected in the coaches’ round of the voting. This year’s All-Star event is slated to be a 3-on-3 tournament with two teams per conference, similar to the National Hockey League’s new All-Star format that was adopted in 2016.

The remaining players in the event – six skaters and all four goaltenders – will be chosen as part of a fan vote set to start Monday, November 21. Littler was also selected to play in last season’s BCHL All-Star Game, which was cancelled due to rising COVID numbers in British Columbia leading up to the game and tightening restrictions based on those metrics.

The All-Star format is as follows:

  • 3-on-3
  • Played on a newly built outdoor rink in Downtown Penticton
  • Four teams of six skaters and one goalie (two teams per conference)
  • Round robin format
  • Top two teams faceoff in the championship game

The All-Stars will also participate in a skills competition earlier in the day with events including hardest shot, accuracy and more.

The process for the fan vote to fill out the remaining roster spots, as well as the list players eligible for the vote, will be unveiled at 10 a.m. on Monday morning.

The BCHL All-Star event is separate from the league’s Top Prospects game, a traditional game to be played that same weekend. Top Prospects rosters and details will be announced at a later date.
