The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the BCHL, have announced they will play four preseason games in Wenatchee in preparation for their sophomore season in the British Columbia Hockey League.
The games will be played in “The Rink”, the adjacent ice surface at Town Toyota Center that also serves as home for the Wolves, Wilderness, and Wolverines. Tickets for the games will be sold as general admission. The first two games will pit the Wild against the Coquitlam Express on Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27. The following weekend, it’s a rematch of last season’s Mainland Division Finals as the Chilliwack Chiefs come to town on Friday September 2, and Saturday September 3. Each of the games begin at 7:05 pm.
Wenatchee Wild Head Coach / GM Bliss Littler is excited about the opportunity to have preseason games. “In years past, in the other league, the travel alone made it impossible to have any real preseason games”, he explained. “This gives us a good look at our development, and provides a great tool to prepare for the regular season.”
The Wild open their season this year as they did last year, with the longest road trip of the season in terms of distance as they head to Prince George for a three game set with the Spruce Kings beginning September 14. The home opener is set for Friday September 30 against the Langley Rivermen.
General admission tickets for the preseason games are ten dollars and will be available for purchase at The Rink walk-up window on the day of the games.
