WILD DROP FIRST SHOWCASE GAME 4-1 TO PRINCE GEORGE
In the opening game of the 2021 BCHL Showcase on Wednesday, the Wenatchee Wild fell 4-1 to the Prince George Spruce Kings. The game opened with a second period goal from Prince George’s Ben LeFranc with an assist to Nathan Fox. The goal was LeFranc’s first of the season and fourth point overall. For Fox, the assist was his first point on the season. Prince George would extend their lead to 2-0 in the third on a goal from Kolton Cousins. This would be his eighth goal of the season and 10th point overall. Cousins was assisted on the goal by John Harrington, his third assist of the season and eighth point overall. The Spruce Kings would make it 3-0 a short while later on LeFranc’s second of the game, his fifth point on the season. Harrington collected his fourth assist of the season and ninth point overall on LeFranc’s goal. Cousins also assisted on the goal for his second point of the game and 11th on the season. Dylan Schives extended Prince George’s lead to 4-0 a short time later for his first goal of the season fifth point overall. Evan Fedele assisted on the goal for his second assist and point on the season.
Cade Stibbe collected his first goal and point of the season when he broke the shutout midway through the third period. Assists came by way of Landon Parker and Brasen Boser. It was Parker’s second assist on the season and third point overall. For Boser, it was second assist and point on the season.
Next up for Wenatchee, they face the Powell River Kings 10 a.m. today at Chilliwack Coliseum in their second and final showcase game.
