The Wenatchee Wild arrived in the Wenatchee Valley in time for the 2008-09 season, and the area immediately fell in love with the organization, from the bright and lively game night experience to the speed and skill displayed by some of the top players in the country. As the Wild prepare for what will be their tenth season, they reached out to billet families and fans for input on how to celebrate the landmark by way of a slogan for the year.
“YEAR 10 IN THE DEN”. The Wild play in the Town Toyota Center, a place known far and wide in hockey circles as “The Wolves Den”. For the wolf, the den is a place of comfort and safety, a place where they are raised. The Town Toyota Center has been a relatively safe haven for the Wild, as the team boasts a .713 win percentage at home in 249 regular season games over the last nine seasons. Most recently, the “Den” has been remarkably comfortable for the Wild, as they went 26-0-2 at home last season. In fact, the Wild have not lost a game in regulation at home in the regular season since Jan.23, 2016, a span of 35 games (31-0-3-1). The slogan “YEAR 10 IN THE DEN” won an online poll that featured the top four suggestions based on preliminary submissions, and is the perfect slogan for this year’s hockey team.
For the duration of this tenth anniversary season, the Wild will also utilize a special hashtag to help fans find relevant content on social media platforms. The hashtag features the number 10 embedded in the term, “Wild Nation”, which results in the following display: #WildNat10n. It’s another way to celebrate a solid landmark for the franchise.
The 2017-18 BCHL Game Schedule will begin the assembly process soon, with hopes of being published by early July.
