The Wenatchee Wild sought to extend their season on Wednesday night but a third period Chiefs comeback allowed Chilliwack to complete the Mainland Division Finals series sweep, taking Game 4 by a score of 3-2.
The Chiefs struck first when Cole Poliziani snapped home a one-timer that was set up below the goal line by Ben Fanjoy and Chilliwack held a 1-0 lead after the first. Colin Burston tied it up for Wenatchee at 10:58 of the middle frame with assists going to Chris Jones and Chad Sasaki. Tied at 1 heading into the third, the Wild got a go-ahead goal from AJ Vanderbeck, who chipped the puck off the right wing wall, raced in, got the shot and buried his own rebound for a 2-1 Wild lead at 9:09. Two minutes later, though, a trio of Chiefs snowplowed a power play chance into the crease and shoved it across the line to tie the game, with the goal credited to Kohen Olischefsi who got the final tap. 44 seconds later, Olischefski picked up the puck on the left wing wall, drove to the net and was able to stuff a low shot between the pads to put Chilliwack on top to stay. The Wild had a couple of close calls attempting to tie, but the Chiefs held off the furious push, ending the series, and the season for Wenatchee. Anthony Yamnitsky made 20 saves for the Wild.
